Savannah Collector Acquires "Candlelight Diners".

Image
An art patron struck the jackpot this week when he acquired two unique paintings from the Palmer Collection. Painted on location during dinner at the "Studio", a boutique restaurant on Hilton head Island whose superb menu is complimented by artists painting while they eat, "Candlelight Diners" features actual patrons enjoying an intimate meal and conversation at the bar. The reflections and candlelight presented a unique challenge , says Palmer, who worked quickly to capture the action in watercolor. See the second painting below.

These Boots are Made for Walking This is a rare fantasy piece by artist Gertrude Palmer that was created at the request of Studio 621 in Tallahassee, FL. The season was Halloween and it was to be scary in theme. Being a woman and past clothing designer, I thought I would address a scary moment in fashion history . Think Nancy Sinatra and white stretch vinyl boots, the essential accessory of the Chicago mini-skirt. This sexy bolero clad muse is being drawn along on the tail feathers of a "be-socked" swan, accompanied by an army of marching white boots.
