  Purchase a Print Have you ever noticed how some art work never gets old and seems to, dare I say it, almost be alive? I purchased a painting called "Rainbow Gulch" by Gert Palmer at an art auction on Tybee back when I first moved here 12 years ago. I had already seen and fallen in love with Gert's paintings of life in the low country. This painting was of some place in the Southwest so seemed an odd choice to bid for, but I was drawn to do so, and I was the highest bidder. Once I brought the painting home, then came the dilemna of where to put it. It ended up in my master bathroom above my big bathtub. Since I am an inveterate "long soaker" in the colder part of the year, I ended up spending long periods of time gazing at this painting. That is when I began to notice there was something different about it. It never seemed the same twice. I always felt I somehow had entered the painting and was actually walking down that path.
